Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
As your privacy is very important to us, this policy discusses Beacon Account Services, Inc. ("Beacon," "we," "us," or "our") privacy practices with respect to guarding the confidentiality and security of your personal information.
Beacon is a debt collector. We collect certain accounts on behalf of credit grantors and other creditors. This is an attempt to collect a debt, and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.
If we decide to change this privacy policy, we will make revisions to this document and, if necessary, to our Privacy Notice (below). In some cases, especially if required by applicable law, we will notify you about these changes. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
What information does Beacon collect?
We collect personal information about you in connection with servicing, collecting, and resolving consumer accounts placed with us by creditors. This information includes your name, address, email address, state of residence, phone number, Social Security number, information about the account balance and payment history, your IP address, recordings of your calls with us, and your interactions with our website.
When a creditor places an account with us, we receive personal information about you from that creditor, including your name, contact information, Social Security number, date of birth, account and payment history, and the amount and nature of the debt. We may also receive personal information about you from other sources, such as consumer reporting agencies, skip-tracing and locator services, data brokers, courts and public records, and your employer (for example, in connection with wage garnishment where permitted by law).
As part of resolving your account, we may also collect additional documents and information from you, such as proof of identity, proof of payment, financial hardship documentation, or bankruptcy filings. If your personal information changes, or if you have questions about the personal information we maintain about you, you may contact us using the information at the end of this privacy policy to correct, update, or request deletion of your personal information, in accordance with applicable law.
We also may collect information that is not personally identifiable. Our website automatically collects clickstream information about your visit, including the address of the website from which you originated before visiting our website, the pages you visit, and information about the browser and device you use.
How does Beacon use the information it collects?
We do not disclose any information that we collect to any other person or entity except as permitted by law and indicated in this privacy policy and/or our Privacy Notice provided or made available to you.
The personal information we collect is used to verify, service, and collect the account placed with us, including to locate you, confirm your identity, communicate with you about the account, confirm payments made to the creditor, negotiate and document repayment arrangements, and, where appropriate, refer or return the account to the original creditor, a subsequent debt owner, or an attorney or collection litigation partner. We may also use your information to comply with applicable law, respond to disputes you raise about the debt, and report account activity and disputes back to the creditor or debt owner.
